Pakistan Youth Parliament Co-Hosts National Seminar on Parliamentary Practices and Democratic Norms at PIPS 🇵🇰
Islamabad, August 7, 2025:
The Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), in collaboration with the Pakistan Youth Parliament (PYP), successfully organized a National Seminar on Parliamentary Practices and Democratic Norms under the PIPS Parliamentary Studies Initiative of the National Parliament.
The seminar brought together 115 youth leaders from all federating units of Pakistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, representing a vibrant and diverse spectrum of Pakistan’s future leadership.
Enriching Sessions for Youth Leadership
The program featured three interactive and highly engaging sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of parliamentary democracy:
1️⃣ Constitution and Parliamentary Practices
2️⃣ Legislative Process
3️⃣ Working of Committees
These sessions provided participants with direct exposure to the processes, procedures, and values that underpin Pakistan’s democratic system, fostering informed, active, and responsible future leaders.
Oath-Taking Ceremony
A special highlight of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony in which the Secretary Senate of Pakistan administered the oath to newly inducted members of the Pakistan Youth Parliament. The ceremony symbolized PYP’s commitment to nurturing young leaders who uphold the principles of democracy, constitutional supremacy, and national integrity.
Distinguished Guests and Presentations
The Chief Guest, Mr. Asim Khan Goraya, Executive Director, PIPS, addressed the participants on the importance of parliamentary values in sustaining democracy. He later distributed certificates to all participants, commending their enthusiasm and commitment.

In his address, President Abu Bakar expressed gratitude to PIPS for its continuous efforts in educating and empowering youth leaders.

The President extended a special vote of thanks to the PIPS Research Team for their dedication in arranging this memorable seminar. He particularly acknowledged Mr. Asif Abro, Assistant Director Research, for his role in coordinating and moderating the entire program with excellence.
